1. The Beginning Class
offered by Tricia Killeen is ongoing and is attracting 14 students
per week on average.
2. Dennis David is
finishing up this week teaching at Forever Learning. A letter
explaining what's going on at the Bridge Center has been distributed
in order to encourage his students to transfer over to the Bridge
3. A novice game will
start July 7 on Thursday mornings at the club. Tom Hebron and Dennis
David have offered to waive their director fee to run the game. I
propose charging $6 ($3 for the lesson and $3 for the 12 board game)
4. Jo Ann Steigmeyer
and Joan Tobler took a two week break and resumed their Monday
morning lessons on May 16 with a 3 week session, “Now What Do I Do.”
5. Elaine DeLaney
resumed her Wednesday lessons on Wednesdays from 11:00-12:30 and
continues to offer Play and Practice sessions on Fridays from 2-4:30
1. The July and August
calendars are ready for publication.
2. The usual duties of
preparing the monthly report, updating the bulletin boards and
database in ACBL Score, reporting 70% games, and solving members'
master point issues have been performed.
3. Monday, September
12, 2016 will be date of the Annual Meeting.
4. A list of
registered voters from SBBC has been posted on the bulletin board
and submitted to Unit 154.
5. To date we have had
2 responses to our ad in the South Bend Tribune.
6. Dan Barson, our
insurance agent, confirmed that our present liability coverage is

candidates running for the Unit 154 Board: John Hamilton, Lena
Howard, and Suzanne Watson for the 2 year term; Bob Knoblock for the
1 year term.
2. The election will
be held for 2 days at the club between June 1-15. We get to choose

drop the Spring Sectional in 2017.
4. Unit 154 voted not
to subsidize StaC weeks in the future. This will add $2-3 to the
cost of participating in the game.
5. Unit 154 voted to
continue the process of leaving District 8 and joining District 11
(Kentucky, western Ohio, central Indiana, and West Virginia).
6. The Unit 154 Annual
Meeting will be at 9:15 on August 28 at the sectional.
1. Twenty of the 27
honorees attended the Golden Age Master game.
2. We had 11 tables at
the Recognition Program on April 23. Gail Wells won $67 in the 50/50

to whether or not to keep the opening lead in the Bridgemate
resulted in 41 for keeping it and 24 for dropping it.
